You will not remember this Christmas, and that is exactly why I am writing it down. Someone will read this to you one day, and you will find out that you were the most talked-about person at the North Pole this year.
Your first Christmas is a quiet sort of magic. There will be more toys than you can hold, and you will probably prefer the wrapping paper. That is traditional. I approve.
Be kind to the people who are up with you in the small hours, Alex. They are tired, and they are doing it gladly, and one day you will understand what that means.
