The North Pole
Dear Alex,
Your letter reached the North Pole on a very cold morning, and I read it twice before breakfast. The elves crowded round to hear it too, which is what always happens when a good letter arrives.
I have been keeping an eye on you this year, Alex, and I want you to know that the kind things you did were noticed. Not the loud ones. The quiet ones, the ones nobody thanked you for. Those are the ones I write down.
The workshop is busy now. Bells are being tested, paint is drying, and Mrs Claus has hidden the gingerbread because the elves cannot be trusted around it. On Christmas Eve I will be passing your way, so leave a light on for me.
With all my Christmas love,
Santa Claus
